    Stock car racing in the seventies attracted huge numbers of participants and competitive drivers and was the scene of exciting battles. The Ford Torino Talladega was only produced in the first weeks of 1969 and is now considered a collector's item. In 1969 and 1970, the Talladega won 29 races, far more than any other model. In 1969, the Ford with David Pearson behind the wheel also won the NASCAR manufacturers' championship.
